With the rapid development of the economy and the increase of large-scale petrochemical engineering projects, more and more high-temperature hard-sealed ball valves are widely used in the fields of petroleum, chemical industry, steel, metallurgy and hydropower. Compared with soft-sealed ball valves, the sealing material and design structure of hard-sealed ball valves are better suitable for high-temperature resistant fields.
Valve body material
1. High-temperature steel castings: Austenitic stainless steel and high-temperature chrome-molybdenum steel are generally used as the main material of the valve under high-temperature conditions.
2. High-temperature steel forgings: The most representative standard for high-temperature chromium-molybdenum steel forgings used in the main material of valves in the world should be the alloy steel in ASTMA182/A182M.
Selection and structure of sealing materials
1. Seat materials
The service temperature of the ball valve usually depends on the high temperature resistance of the seat material. According to different seat materials, high temperature ball valves can be divided into two types of sealing structures: metal to metal (hard seal) and metal to nonmetal (soft seal).
2. Flange gasket materials
According to the process, semi-metallic gaskets such as 316 stainless steel or INCONEL alloy steel can be used for metal winding parts, which can withstand a wider range of temperature and pressure than non-metallic gaskets.
Valve test
For the test of high temperature resistant valves, in addition to various performance tests according to the general valve test standard at room temperature, various performance tests and operational performance tests of the valve under high temperature conditions (specific high temperature performance test device) should also be carried out.
Compared with ordinary normal temperature ball valves, high temperature ball valves have extremely high requirements on valve material selection, structural design and machining accuracy. A complete quality assurance system and process control can produce a ball valve product that fully meets the performance.
