Introduction to Pipeline Strainers
2023-08-17

In steam and condensate systems, garbage and debris in pipelines often cause damage to equipment, such as scale, rust, welding slag, and other solid particles, which may enter the pipeline system. Strainers can filter out solid particles in liquids or gases, not only protecting equipment from damage, but also reducing equipment downtime and maintenance time.

Strainers are generally installed upstream of each drain valve, flow meter, and control valve. The strength and sealing test of the strainers implements HG/T21637 series standards, and its types include Y type, T type, cone type, basket type, etc. The connection forms include butt welding connection, flange connection and thread connection. Shell materials include carbon steel, low alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, etc.

Design Advantages

The filter chamber is in close contact with the filter screen, without leakage or compression. The two ends of the cavity are precision machined, providing an excellent smooth contact surface and a fixed cavity length for the filter screen. The filter screen is in close contact with the precision machined cavity, effectively preventing impurities larger than the filter hole from escaping from both ends of the filter screen.

Applicable Media

1. Weak corrosive materials in chemical and petrochemical production, such as water, ammonia, oil products, hydrocarbons, etc.

2. Corrosive materials in chemical production, such as caustic soda, soda ash, concentrated sulfuric acid, carbonic acid, acetic acid, fatty acid, etc.

3. Low temperature materials in refrigeration, such as liquid methane, liquid ammonia, liquid oxygen, and various refrigerants.

4. Materials with hygiene requirements in light industrial food and pharmaceutical production, such as beer, beverages, dairy products, etc.
