After thousand times of discussion and debate, Chengdu--a charming and vigorous city in southwest China, and several spectacular natural sites around the city are decided to be the destination of this year’s company trip. For the first time on this year's trip, we split into two teams. One team fly to the city and go to a nationally renowned tourist attraction namedJiuzhai Vally,and the other who have visited the city before choose to take a road trip to Chengdu. After 4days, the two Dervos squads will meet in the beautiful city. Where the Sightseeing-team goes to is a national park that’s best known for its fabled blue and green lakes, spectacular waterfalls, narrow conic karst land forms and its unique wildlife. Jiuzhai vally is almost the synonym of fairyland. Though it was rainy, the rain and stray cloud also added special emotions to the picturesque place. Literally, we took hundreds and thousands of pictures there. We wanted to catch the fascinating scene and catch the moment we spend together. Then Let’s talk another team-- the self-driving team. In 4 days, they made their way north, crossed 5 province, visited cities and ancient towns, tasted local dishes and they even drove to a mountain at an elevation of 4,000 meters. You have to say that, they are the real players and played more than hard. Two teams, in the end, met in Chengdu. We have one kind of national-wide popular food in China called ‘hotpot’ which actually is born in Chengdu. Of course we didn’t miss it. What’s more, Chengdu is home to anther thing you definitely heard before or even love-- panda. We also visited these adorable creatures. We say that 2020 is quite a difficult year. It’s like on a hard mode. But we believe that it will get better. The road lays there, it always waits for someone to step onto it. We, Dervos people, have been on the road, and will never stop.

The sealing performance of traditional hard seal butterfly valve is not so satisfying, because the leakage of the valve is hard to avoid. In order to change this situation, after several upgrades of hard seal butterfly valve, the triple eccentric butterfly valve arrives.   The characteristic of the triple eccentric butterfly valve is that the high-temperature and corrosion resistant alloy material is welded to the seat sealing surface layer, and the multi-layer soft stacked seal ring is fixed on the butterfly plate. Such a process makes the triple eccentric butterfly valve more resistant to high temperature and high pressure environment and more corrosion-resistant than the traditional butterfly valve products.   To be specific,  the benefits of the triple eccentric structure of the hard seal butterfly valve are--   The design of the triple eccentric type is so unique that the metal hard seal begins to save more effort. When the valve is open or closed, there is no friction between the butterfly plate and the valve body while rotating. When the valve is closed, the increasing torque of the transmission mechanism can provide a compensating seal, greatly improving the sealing performance of the triple eccentric butterfly valve. At the same time, the service life of the butterfly valve increases.   What 3 parts of Triple offset butterfly valve are offset?   The first eccentric part is that the spindle which is located behind the spindle of the valve plate, allowing the seal to completely and tightly surround the entire valve seat.   The second eccentric part is that the centerline of the valve shaft deviates from the centerline of the pipe and the valve. This construct prevents interference from valve opening and closing.   The third eccentric is that the valve seat cone axis deviates from the center line of the valve shaft, so as to eliminate friction in the closing and opening process, and to achieve a uniform and consistent compression seal around the entire valve seat.   The above is an introduction to the three eccentric butterfly valve, three eccentric butterfly valve is a high-performance butterfly valve, currently used in many fields. And even in some areas, triple offset butterfly valve has took the place of the gate valve, globe valve, ball valve and other products.  

The options for ball valves seem endless. In order to choose the right ball valve, you have to decide which seat material? What kind of terminal connection? Full, Reduced or Standard Port? 2-way or multi-port type? the packaging?   In this article, we will discuss when you should use a three-piece ball valve.   What is a 3-piece ball valve?   Ball valves fall in one-piece, two-piece or three-piece. One-piece ball valves are relatively cheap and usually require no maintenance. A two-piece ball valve consists of two separate parts that are connected by a threaded or bolted and flanged assembly.   According to this law, you may have guessed that a three-piece ball valve consists of three pieces. Yes, there are two end caps and a valve body. The end caps are either welded, threaded or flanged to the piping on either side of the valve.   Why use a three-piece ball valve?   For projects with a large number of valve requirements, three-piece ball valves are more convenient than one-piece or two-piece ones. When seats and seals need to be replaced periodically, three-piece valves can be easily disassembled, repaired and reassembled without major cuts to the piping.   Three-piece ball valves also allow replacement of elastomers to accommodate different process conditions, temperatures, pressures and flow rates.   Do you need to weld the valve in the field? Another benefit of a 3 piece ball valve is the fact that it can remove the valve body and trims while welding. Because that, the body and trims can be kept intact.   What is the biggest difference between a 2 and 3 piece ball valve?   The two-piece ball valve was also designed in the view of easy maintenance. The major difference between the two is that the valve body on a three-piece valve can be removed without disturbing the two end caps. Two-piece ball valves usually do not allow this, let alone one-piece ball valves.   There are, of course, price differences. As mentioned earlier, one-piece valves are usually disposable. Three-piece valves tend to cost more initially, but in the long run, maintenance costs and the ability to replace the seat and seals should be kept in mind rather than replacing the valve.

Ball valves and butterfly valves are the two most common types of rotary valves. It only need a quarter-turn to turn on or turn off both valves. However, there are certain functions where a ball valve is better than a butterfly valve.   First of all, ball valve provides a perfect seal. When the valve is completely closed, there will be no leakage. More importantly, the ball valve can rotate regardless of the pressure from the supply line. What’s more, as long as it is fully open, it will not reduce the pressure of the fluid in the pipeline.   Ball valves are primarily used to control high-pressure liquid and gas lines. This is because ball valves do not cause any pressure drop or impede fluid movement when fully open. What is worthy to be noted that they are primarily used in applications where the inside diameter of the pipe is less than or equal to 6 inches.   Ball valves have no trouble in high-pressure applications. In addition, when ball valves are used in high-pressure applications, a pressure balancing scheme is not required. This is not possible with butterfly valves.   Ball valves have a simple structure. They are also smaller and lighter compared to many other types of valves. Ball valves have a very flexible soft seal, which makes it easy to operate. And ball valves have the lowest fluid resistance compared to all other types of valves.   You can use the valve for many years without any damage due to leakage. In other words, this means that the valve is reliable and cost effective in the long term. This valve can be designed to withstand extremely high pressures. In fact, you will recognize that high-pressure systems often have ball valves fitted internally.   There can be multiple ends in a ball valve. It allows many combinations of ports. If you are thinking of purchasing a ball valve, you can consider these advantages before your purchase.

June 27th is a big day to Dervos as it marks it has been 12 years since Dervos started to explore the sector of industrial valves. At first, we played the surprising video for Eric and Ken, the two founders of this big family, in which we reviewed when we joined Dervos by saying 'Hi, this Dervos of 20XX, how are you?'. From that video, we could learn how Dervos grow from a small company of only two to today's 30-plus. Then the gift-seeking session began. Everyone got a clue like 'the coziest chair in the office', and he or she had to find the sticker hidden in the place and get the gift the sticker shows. For the gifts, it seems everyone was driven crazy and almost turned the office up and down. Finally, of course, no gift eluded.     After a short break, we drove to a game club of trueman room escape--the most popular game in China now. Being divided into 4 teams, we were sent into 4 different themed rooms in which we needed to find the objects to interact with other items in the room to reveal a way to escape in a given time. Guess how many teams were smart enough to pass the game?     The dinner and Karaoke in the evening were also exciting. Everyone, boys and girls, their faces looked so charming and lively in the dim light. Laughter and cheers filled the beautiful night. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful day. This is the beginning of the Devos's 12th year, we will meet in the next 12 years and more.
